more than a name

What I love about Lydia Hearst, not only is she heir to her family name but she's a down to earth women with a humble personality. She has such an undeniable beauty with brains, which is rare. After watching a few interviews of her, she's really on top of her game when it comes to business and her personal life. Shown here Lydia with Sean O'pry in a provocative shot that I think is pretty raw sexy but yet editorialy chic. I wonder what is Sean thinking about.

pour it in

Drawstring bucket bags are making it's way back from the Chloé Fall Winter 2010 collection. I am in need of this gorgeous mahogany brown leather drawstring bucket bag that is a great utility to hold all your personal essential. This bag can go with almost any look without being to dressy or too casual. My advice is you can always find a great drawstring bag at thrift stores or vintage stores for a really good bargain.

close attention

I love a good pair of fitted short trousers with a light neutral color button down shirt such as slate and a matching tie. It brings an old school tailoring of a young boy going to a boarding school. What really pulls this look together is a pointed black patent leather oxford dress shoe. It brings a whole new perspective of simplicity yet so rich and detailed. Definitely a look to wear during the summer nights events or any special upcoming events of looking sharp.

still working the lens

Last weekend, Saturday April 24th my friend and I went to the Alley in downtown LA to do some shopping and as we were walking to our destination, there was a fashion photo shoot on a busy corner street. Out of all models, it was supermodel Amber Valletta. I just knew it was Amber from a far distance. She looked amazing still at the age 36. I personally think she looks goregous in person. I'm glad she is still working as a part time mother, actress, and a model. I knew I had to get a photograph of her and I for memory lane, that just made my day.

A Bad Boy Thing

We all know that we fantasize about having a troubled bad boyfriend that our parents would not approve during our teens. Well, Ben Hill definitely has it going on here at the John Richmond Fall Winter 2010 show. He has this distinct seductive bad boy attitude look that I am going crazy for. He has such a versatile look in the fashion industry. He can be your classic all American Ralph Lauren boy to your urban Deuces Wild kid. What I love about him is his 5 o'clock shadow, chiseled boy structure, and seducing stare. I am looking forward to seeing him on the cover of Italian Vogue with Daria Werbowy, now that would be something.

the right moves

A strong independent women like Samantha Jones from Sex and The City played by Kim Cattrall knows exactly what she wants and when she wants it. I can totally image her wearing this look while trying to catch a taxi. This glossy red orange patent vinyl short trench coat from Max Mara Spring Summer 2003 is the look for Spring. Whether you just want make a statement for any event, this would definitely be the right appeal. Just throw on a pair of black matte silver heel sling backs and a envelope flap python skin clutch for a more sophisticated yet darring attitude.

Monsoon Commotion

As soon as I saw this photograph of Karen Elson featured in the Vogue Italia October 2001 issue photographed by Javier Vallhonrat, I was blown away. So edgy, so editorial, so chic, this is the epitome of high fashion in a nutshell. It has a mysterious sensuality yet with a depth of contradiction. I am so loving the shift dress with the leather top detailing. Maybe it will be a comeback for this Spring.

playing both sides

So I came across this fresh new face, Dzhovani Gospodinov. He has such a strong androgynous identity that I find amusing. Shown here, I actually love the Amish look of the white non collar button down vertical pin line detail, black suspenders, and most importantly the black medium rounded felt hat. I find it to be a classic chic version of today's flair. What I also love is Dzhovani look, it's so ethereal and nostalgic that I feel like I'm pulled in the moment.

oh sheila!

Big round silver hoop earrings, big shiny black rounded sunglasses, gold chain print on a black silk scarf tied as a head wrap, & a shocking pink lip. This is what I call a women that has confidence within herself and isn't a follower when it comes to fashion. Michael Kors for Celine Spring Summer 2004 was all about having a jet-set wardrobe and playing with different proportions. A mixture of 60's with a fun cool twist without being too literal. Remember, it's all in the details to create a statement.

possibilities

Oh how much I would die for a Dolce & Gabbana envelope man clutch bag. This bag is just one of those key pieces that a fashion-able man needs in his closet. Whether wear it with a classic suit or jeans and a white tee, the looks are endless. Instead of wearing your cell phone and wallet in your pocket pants, just put it in this bag for a more sophisticated attitude without all the bulky feel.

archive charm

When you think Chloé, you think no restrictions, no boundaries, just pure freedom of being yourself. Jessica Miller does the Chloé ads for Spring Summer 2004 by Phoebe Philo. This white translucent floral detailed separates makes the ideal look for this coming early summer. What I love the most about this ad is the sunlight hitting on the side of Jessica. Just pure casual elegance. It brings a certain nostalgic ethereal charisma that I just can't get enough of.

sipid & sweet

Ever since I saw the store manager Jill wearing this marvelous pastel blue sheath dress at the Michael Kors boutique store at South Coast Plaza location, I was sold. I didn't know it was that gorgeous when you see something off the runway. But when you see it in person, it's like a whole new level of deliciousness. From the cut, detailing zipper, & fabrication of movement. You wonder why Michael is so known for his classic tweaked American sportswear. If I were a  cute young girl with spider legs, this would be the dress that I would wear on my birthday.

heaven knows

I've always been inspired by Celine when Michael Kors was artistic director. One of my favorite collections was the Celine Spring Summer 2004. The gold chain print was a famous print during the 60's and Michael took that print and exploded the print for a more shocking fun spring summer look. Shown here is a basic black cashmere fitted crewneck sweater with a gorgeous white fitted gold chain print trousers with gold strappy sandals, thick black headband, and big round sunglasses. Super easy yet chic for the women that wants to feel easy going without all the fuss.

Don't shy away

If you already know the basics of putting on eyeshadow, dare to be a little dramatic with pastel colour shades. Shown here at the Valentino Spring Summer 2004 show, matte skin, lilac blush spreaded to temples and higher end brow for a light but yet bold look. Then with an bright pastel mustard yellow towards the inner eye, with topped with a black eyeliner, and full mascara lashes. And most importantly, a bright glossy orange red lipstick. I strongly love this look since it reminds me of spring and their happy colors to brighten someone's spirit up.

hand gestures

As you all know, every women needs at least a variety of clutch bags. Whether it's an black sparkly evening clutch or a cream shoulder day clutch, skies the limit! This one in particular is still one of my favorite from the Celine Spring Summer 2004 by Michael Kors. A light pastel leaf green with gold metal detailing on the corner and a gold mesh chain wristlet. This is a spring clutch bag that would look best with a simple bright colored cashmere crew neck fitted sweater with a floral print full skirt or bikini shown in the picture. Ultra sophisticated without all the zsa zsa zu.
