playing the innocence

I adore the youthful innocent convent school girl look. Stella McCartney took that look and made it her our version. An oversize dark ivory cape coat, dark ivory pleated half way full skirt, & white Henley long rolled up sleeve. Another chic look to wear on a Sunday brunch with the girlfriends or to walk on the town with your boyfriend. Center parted hair with natural waves or slicked back tightly in a chignon to finish this look. Featured at the Stella McCartney Pre-Fall Winter 2010 collection. Again, sexy doesn't mean showing so much skin, sexy can still be shown through how you carry yourself even in the most innocent looking outfit.

hold it back

Though this hobo bag is a feminine accessory, the color shown of smoky gray & dark tobacco brown suede makes this hobo bag masculine. This was featured at the Gucci Menswear Fall Winter 2010 collection. The ideal bag for carrying for shopping or traveling. Simple but yet chic that can be worn with any casual trouser shorts or knitted cardigan sweater.

Layer of Substance

If I were a rich man, I would most likely spend my money on coats. Whether it's a trench coat, pea coat, or top coat, having a least one versatile coat that can work with any look would be the best money investment. It depends what most people like of a coat. I personally love all types of coats as long as it has a glove fit structure to the body. This gorgeous chic long over coat featured at the Gucci Menswear Fall Winter 2010 was one of the best pieces that I saw. Simple long coat with six button and a touch of dark camel suede on the left lower side collar that gave a cool modern feel. Definitely would buy my boyfriend a long coat like this for him to wear out on the town.

Meisel's Dreamlike

Steven Meisel, one of the most sought after and notorious fashion photographers in the world really knows how to capture that inner soul beauty in every photograph he takes. With this editorial photograph of Australian model Gemma Ward in a forest with a huge red flower headpiece with smoke black eyes and natural matte skin. There is a quality that I've notice that Meisel does that is his signature style and this photograph really shows it. It's like the photograph is almost a realistic painting which I find surreal and spellbinding.

easy going

So I just got done watching the Gucci Menswear Fall Winter 2010 collection and I really enjoyed it compared to the last couple of seasons. I think this collection pin pointed the most imported key essentials in every fashionable man's wardrobe. Super luxurious, relaxed, & clean line silhouette. I was fascinated by these two looks. Definitely my style that are important pieces that are a must have such as: knit cardigan sweater, hobo man bag, baseball jacket, & horse-bit loafers.

a cut above

Mia Farrow is a fashion icon that changed the world with her haircut. She is just a stunning women that broke the barrier that having a short boyish haircut is one of the boldest style to do during the late 60's. My mom is one of my biggest influence in my life and I remember during the 90's that she had the short Mia Farrow in Rosemary's baby haircut with the side part combed. I just love how easy and clean it has on a women. If only more women can have such a short haircut and still have fun like if they did have long hair.

A Sherbet Spring

I am so ready for this coming spring and so is Michael Kors and his new spring summer 2010 ad campaigns featuring Carmen Kass & Noah Mills. It's about urban city with a sweet pastel appetite. Clean lines with at ease fit. The freedom to wear easy going pieces of jersey tops, cotton short shorts, and jersey draping shift dresses without being too dressed up or dressed down. Whether it's going to a resort in Saint Tropez or spending a Sunday brunch with that special someone, remember to wear it with poise.

Miami Chic

Top models: Liisa Winkler, Caroline Ribeiro, & Emily Sandberg all wearing Versace Spring Summer 2000 collection. A look back from exactly 10 years ago. It had a miami attitude and taste within the style. The focus point was showing legs & arms, bold prints, & light airy chiffon fabrics. I hope Donatella brings back this ubberly sexy Versace back.

Urbanity Character

Not a lot of men wears or owns a great fit turtleneck now a days, well at least where I live. But I think it's one of the best key pieces to own with a great pair of fitted trousers or destroyed jeans. Clement Chabernaud for Balmain Homme Fall Winter 2009/10 ad campaign wears this simple black cashmere turtleneck with jeans. A great turtleneck to me brings such strong sophistication with a less commercial look.

The Penelope Tree Look

Inspired by fashion icon model Penelope Tree herself, Chanel Fall Winter 2005 makeup was all about the thick black drawn under lashes with a black single line on the top lid of the eyes and a hint of white eyeshadow effect. Pin straight center part hair for a modern 60's look.

boys will be boys

Left to right: Josh Beech, Jonas Kesseler, & Tom Nicon at the backstage Versace Fall Winter 2010 show.  Not only do these boys have great skin & bone structure, they have dynamic personalities that makes them different than a typical model. Personality is a big plus than just looks, got to have the whole package.

blinded wood

Now when you think handbag it's usually either leather or canvas, but looking at this you think more an art form of an accessory. Wood fanned on the side with in between blinds that you could see through in between the wood slots. Featured at the Stella McCartney Spring Summer 2010 collection. This handbag can only hold things that are solid and thick, not suitable for tiny or skinny essentials since it can fall out in the in between slots. With a new century, it's a great time for fashion to push it more on the edge that will change the future of fashion.

properly dressed.

When it comes to looking chic without showing skin, Karl knows exactly the right key pieces to put together the look. When I came across this number from the Chanel Spring Summer 2007 collection, I just love the menswear feel with the romance. It's stated, refined, & versatile. Fitted ivory trousers, white collar dress shirt with an oversize white organza bow tie, fitted dark navy blue/black blazer, & a bronze clutch bag. A look that can work for any age women that believes dressing chic is better than sexy.

the dark side

Photographed by Mario Sorrenti, this photograph of Australian model Gemma Ward is a bit frightening but yet strangely chic in the Vogue Italia July 2006 editorial issue. The theme was called masquerades. An all black top with a dark metallic silver bow neck piece, painted black neck and chin, black lips with black lines on the cheeks, thick black wire mask, & a black wired headpiece. This is what high fashion is about. Going to the extreme and creating a look that can be shocking and provocative. I've seen a lot of Sorrenti's work and I just love how he can grab your attention with any of his photograph work whether it's simple sweet or to a new level.

Vinyl Attitude!

Is it a raincoat or just a long overcoat? Well, It can be go both ways. It's more of an updated ladylike raincoat with a modern chic take by Miuccia. The navy blue outlining has more of a fitted lower body structure silhouette like a pencil skirt, with the orange outlining has a looser lower fit like a full skirt. What I love the most is that you can see transparently through the raincoat of the outfit underneath which gives a modern illusion. A must have for every well dress women that wants to be seen even on rainy day.

dressing the daughter

If I were to have a daughter, I would love to dress her in this still photo shot of these 3 young girls that I saw in a Prada film called "Thunder Perfect Mind" film. I like how it has a maturity sense of style and classy attitude at the same time. From the cardigan cashmere sweater to the printed red lips full skirt, it's flirty but yet restrain. I want my daughter to know that fashion isn't just about the clothes, it's about expressing ourselves and separating ourselves amongst other individuals, which defines who we are. You can still be young but dressed as a strong mature women can still be sexy.

A Farrow Cut.

One of the most leading non commercial high fashion magazines in the world, Italian Vogue. Innovative & imaginative that pushes fashion in a different out look than the norm. Top model Emily Sandberg graces the cover of September 2002 issue in a Prada vinyl clear coat with orange outline detailing photographed by Steven Meisel. I am so spellbind by her bird eye stare and her Mia Farrow haircut circa 1968 film: Rosemary's Baby. I love it when women can have such a short haircut but still having the feminine touch within.

chic museum

Let me just say that I am a huge fan of Vogue magazines, especially Vogue Italia. I get so mesmerized by the cover photographs that capture that inner soul being. This is an example of how I would put together framed vintage Vogue magazine covers on a wall with a modern Victorian styling finish with light pastel and neutral tones. It's like your very own mini fashion museum in your own cozy home.

The Lastest Saffman

So I cam across British male model Sam Saffman's latest comp card. God, he just keeps looking good each time I see recent photos of him. I love his new grown shag, totally suits his look. Hopefully one day when I'm in New York or London lost with directions, he will approach me and ask if I need any assistance. Now that would be some shit.

bittersweet

Mysterious with the sweetful innocence is what Miuccia was thinking for her Miu Miu Fall Winter 2007 collection. Even though this black number may seem simple, it has the right elements to make a statement. What I love about this look is that it has the right form of a mini skirt, the blouse sweater top with the loose three quarter length sleeve, and Mary Jane heels. What makes this look so special is the dab of the white collar with mini ruffle details. I find it fascinating that the white collar is detachable, it's not an actual white collar blouse underneath. It really gives a mature ladylike sense. Lastly, the wrist lit lace band that I think is leading to a provocative Lingerie appeal...

a new defintion

This may not seem like your typical cape coat but it's a new take of a cape coat. It's more of a oversize long short sleeve coat. The tan color against the caramel leather trimming around the perimeter gives such bold contrast. This cape coat jacket would be worn on any casual day with a pair of destroyed fitted jeans and your boyfriend's white dress shirt tucked in with a dark tobacco brown skinny belt tongued out. A casual look without being too dressed up.

with all the goodies...

A clutch bag is a easier accessory to have since it's lighter and easier to hold around the wrist or underarm. Whether it's a quick trip to the farmers market or at the cafe with friends on a Sunday brunch, this type of clutch bag can hold all personal essentials without having to use a regular handbag on those low key days. I absolutely love this beautifully dark purple pebble leather clutch with gold hardware trimming featured at the Chloé Fall Winter 2009 Collection. It goes well with any loose fit trousers & fitted blouse with minimal accessories from sporty to dressy.

Black & White Print

Every women needs at least a few black & white printed skirts. Whether it's a full or pencil skirt, it's a great way to bring a fun subtle look without being too aggressive. Best worn with a black blouse top either long or short sleeve collar or turtleneck. Simple black sling backs or mules to add a sophistication. It's all about subtly, no need for accessories just a tote bag would finish this look.

within a collar

I find this jeweled white collar with pearls a delightful way to wear jewelry with a minimal style. It has a Coco Chanel feel with the black fitted shift dress with long sleeve gloves. I find this style to be so romantic since it's so simple and effortless. It really doesn't need anything else to it. I'm a believer of less being more. Definitely a style to wear at a black attire or evening event.

new shapes

Hannah Macgibbon is the chief creative designer for the french house of Chloé. She really takes pride in her work from the details to the usage of different fabrics. I adore this translucent chiffon cream full length pleated skirt and oversize eggshell sports coat with a fitted tucked in cardigan blouse underneath. It's combining all the key pieces from the past and creating a new frame. Women can still be sexy without show skin. Just wear the clothes and feel it then you will see.

feathers all around

Peacock feathers anyone? It may sound a bit silly but I find them to be really beautiful. Featured at the Prada Spring Summer 2005 collection. The peacock feathers were attached to a full skirt all around. Just seeing the movement of the peacock feathers flowing around the skirt made the skirt look alive. Artistically chic with a freedom sensibility.

A look back at Mr. Testino

Mario Testino is a well renowned fashion photographer. He's taken photographs of famous fashion top models and big fashion house names. This Prada Fall Winter 2002 ad campaign are one of my favorite Prada ads. Languid, sensual, & mysterious are the words that describe it. What I love about this photograph is the purple lighting shadow. It gives a strong boldness and grabs the viewers attention. It's one of those moments that you have to look within the photograph and feel the emotion.

90's flashback?

This new year of 2010, 90's fashion styles with a cutting edge are making a huge comeback. At the Lanvin Fall Winter 2009 menswear collection had a new freedom feel silhouette of  looser pleat fit trousers, satin silk dress shirts in neutral tones, neck knot tie scarf in satin silk & all with a new snugged skull cap. I personally love this collection. It has a strict structure and calm attitude. A style that I can wear without all the overrated trends.

secure it all

This jumbo size handbag reminds me of those post office security mail bag that holds secure payroll, stocks, bonds, securities and other important documents for transport. This in particular is a pebble leather brownish green with a round button gold hardware detail on the side pocket that I completely love from the Chloé Fall Winter 2009 collection. It can also be used as a weekender or traveling bag. It's just one of those huge handbags you just got to have for any essential needs.

puro naturale

I appreciate women that understand that when putting on makeup, it's just to conceal imperfections. People are not suppose to notice that your wearing makeup. I can't stand when women wear caked on foundation or eyeshadow, that's not what makeup is about. Shown here model Hanne Gaby Odiele at the Chloé Fall Winter 2009 collection was like a breathe of fresh air. Now that's how makeup is suppose to look like, not even noticeable. Very refreshing makeup that made the girls look very natural and rejuvenated. Remember, less is always more.

don't think, just knot it!

Alber Elbaz knows his game when it comes to Parisian chic. With the menswear Fall Winter 2009 collection paraded new ideas. One of them were a new way to wear a tie or scarf around the neck. A tie neck fabric wrapped around the neck like a scarf but tied in a half way loop knot shown in the picture. I find it to be a fresher approach with comfort. This would look right with a V neck dark print sweater. Another idea that I need to attempt for this season.

grasp upon

I've notice that more and more younger women are wanting to look more sophisticated at the age 20 something. Miuccia showed these luxurious single flap doctor handbags in gold hardware detailing in tomato red, cream, and cloudy gray ostrich skin at the Miu Miu Fall winter 2007 collection. These are made for the women that have definite style. Perfect size to hold your personal essentials. Since these doctor handbag is super luxurious, I recommend wearing it with something modest like: long sleeve chiffon blouse, a full pleated skirt down to the shins, nude knee highs and a dark tobacco brown pebble leather pointed pumps.

plastic dreams

It may look like colorful candy wrappers, but their plastic flower shaped necklace. Miuccia created a new styled necklace that can be worn with any look from casual to dressy. Their cool and simple without all the sparkles. I prefer to wear them with a white or gray collar dress shirt shown at the Miu Miu Spring Summer 2003 collection. A sweeter and playful approach to any look.

The Collar

When it comes to being pretty, Miuccia Prada knows exactly how to take pretty to a different tune. Miu Miu Spring Summer 2008 collection was all about the collars. Collars that were worn with baby doll dresses to sleeveless blouses. This cream color ballerina dress with the detachable collar gives a proper high class touch. The detachable collars can be worn with almost anything that doesn't have a collar. It's a new accessory for the neck.

paillettes noires

You just never know what fashion designers are going to put out on their runway especially when it comes to menswear. At the John Richmond Fall Winter 2009 collection featured a black sequin V neck long sleeve sweater. It's taking a basic sweater and changing it to a more modern and updated style. I absolutely love it since it's simple but has a festive sophistication. It can be worn with black trousers or very dark blue fitted jeans. Bring a little shine to the nightlife out on the city.

Purely Irresistible

When I first laid eyes on Mikus Lasmanis, he has this young boyish quality with a dynamic personality that wins you over. This 21 year old from Ikskile, Latvia is making it huge in the fashion industry. He snabbed the CK jeans S/S 09 ad campaign and he did quite a few major fashion editorial shots for major fashion magazines. What I love about him is that he a big personality and speaks flawless English. He has humility, poise, & cute simple confidence which I find so graceful. I can't resist his strong bone structure, irresistible natural built body, & his natural being. His classic chic look is like a Chanel jacket that will never be out of style.

satin with a flash

A little accessory such as a brooch can bring life to a look in many ways. This light satin pink champagne bow with diamond side & center detail is a fresh take to a new brooch style. Simple with a sweet touch. Innocent without being too serious. I love the fact the satin is a soft light color that goes so well with the diamond detailing. It really gives a charming quality. Best worn with a dark color cashmere cardigan sweater or cape coat during the night out with the girls.

lesser sex appeal

When it comes to dressing sexy, their are ways to make the sexy look more subtle in a sophisticated way. This slate with white floral print strapless dress with ruched detailing is a classic with a modern take. But with the added half top cut turtleneck gives an illusion of security and refinement. It's a new take on a turtleneck with an softer edge. I find it to be a rare idea for women to wear over any strapless sexy dress. I call this "sexy without putting it all out there."
