standing out

One of the biggest things that stood out the most to me during Milan Men's fashion week for Spring Summer 2011. Four word, "A real man's body" Alexandre Cunha at the D&G Spring Summer 2011 with this picnic print short trousers and white canvas slip on shoes was his amazing body, I mean seriously, "Break me a piece of that!" Defined tone body is what I want on top of me, yes I said it and I'm not going to deny it. But besides all that, D&G was one of my favorite as usual. It had a picnic chic theme with a very casual, laid back, classic feel with more of a in between fitted and loose fit to the body. Nothing too fussy, just pure classic Domenico & Stefano which is what their always good at.

more of a polished

It's so nice to see this hairstyle of Julian Shratter's do making a come back. It's very classic with an ease. Definitely a reminiscent of the 90's but without the wet gel look. It's more of a calm blow out polish and natural. Thank god not everyone at the moment is rocking this hairstyle. I feel a little cocky to say this but I felt when I was at L.A. pride, I was the only one with this hairstyle. I had a shag before and I knew for this new decade summer, I want a complete 360 change so why not bring back an archive look with a more modern twist.

casting shadows

One of my favorite model, Jessica Miller looking gorgeous as usual in this phenomenal photograph in Manhattan, New York. I love every details. From the natural lighting, cast of shadows pulled in, the over coat with the floral dress underneath, and sexy early Brooke Sheilds hair. Another idea for my upcoming fashion photo shoots.

retrospective dressing

It seems like a lot of the Menswear Spring 2011 had a blast of off whites, creams, light beige, khaki, and ivory. Not only the color but even the cut and fit of fabric on the silhouette seems to be a reminiscences of the 90's. Am I right? If so, I think this is a beginning of a beautiful decade. This look featured at the Salvatore Ferragamo Spring Summer 2011 was one of my other favorites. Simple, clean, and classic. Fashion to me is about feeling comfortable and looking effortless without all the ho ha. A toned down french sailor stripe with short pleated flat front trousers. A ready to wear look from brunch to late afternoon on a low Sunday at the beach club.

monochrome vision

After looking through all the Vogue Italia archives, this photograph of Charlotte Gainsbourg on the cover of October 2000 is just divine. I love how it's a portrait shot which is one of my favorite when it comes to a Vogue Italia shot. Another is that it's black and white with a plain background. Super classic and ultra luxuriously chic with the fur neck wrap. I believe all clothes by Prada, just another pure classic. Hopefully I can achieve this type of fashion genre when I do my fashion photo shoots.

the golden touch

I remember clearly seeing this gold croc skin with metal detailing on the corner and gold mesh strap clutch at the Celine Spring Summer 2004 by Michael Kors. This clutch is one of those accessories that you must have that will definitely go with any summer look with the right punch of shine. I personally would wear this with white flat front trousers with a palm tree print button down shirt for a tropical yacht feel. A perfect size to fit any of your necessity personal needs. Remember, flaunt your best pieces when being scene.

shows to shows

During men's fashion week in Milan for Spring Summer 2011, Tobias Sorensen shown here looking casually chic during his back to back fashion shows. I just wish more men now a days can look this good on any given day. What I love about this photograph is that it's candid which makes it even look more natural of him posing yet not posing. Neutral tones is key when putting together a simple casual look without being too overly done.

The First look of 2011

I'm so thrilled with the new Salvatore Ferragamo Spring Summer 2011 Menswear, my first pick was this extraordinary easy sleek number. Nylon navy blue trunks, cream cashmere light sweater with a cotton wool blazer and to top it all off with a punch of pastel yellow neck scarf and flat strappy sandals. Definitely a look to wear at a French resort or on a chic cruise line. It gives me goosebumps when I see masculine men wearing clothes like this. What I'm also going crazy about this collection is the hairstyle. Side parted with a semi blow out slick back hair with a very polished finish. 90's with a modern edge of the 1920's. Another exquisite collection, Thank You Massimiliano Giornetti, creative director for Salvatore Ferragamo.

Classics Gone Strong!

I've always had a thing for floral printed high heel pumps. Personally, I think it brings more personality about the shoes and the person wearing them. But not just any printed silk heel. I'm talking about the circa Prada 2003 heel that the print was featured on the runway, not necessarily the shoe though I wish it did. These classic pumps are just perfect for any semi dressy look a women is going for. Definitely wear them with a full skirt, pleated or not it just works wonders. What I also love about these shoes is that the print of the floral is very subtle and not so busy like. It reminds me of a beautifully decorated drapery in a Italian home in Florence.

the good ol times

The White Pleated skirt is an essential when it comes to the balance of causal and dressy. Wear it with printed floral high heels and a short sleeve turtleneck for a true woman chic. Remember, a full skirt isn't just your grandmother's look, take it and make it a modernize you for a change.

Missing You, Tom Nicon

22 year old French fashion model, Tom Nicon past away yesterday June 18, 2010 in Milan, Italy. He died after falling out of his Milan window apartment. A sudden tragedy whether it was an accident or suicide, it breaks my heart to hear someone die at such a young age. With deepest sympathy to his friends and family. A word from Donatella Versace: "Tom, I can't believe yesterday I saw you for the last time. I always treasure in my heart the last moment you spent with us. We will all miss you." And a word from me: "Tom, though you don't know me but you were one of my favorite male model. I remember first seeing you at one of those backstage fashion  on FTV and you really caught my eye with your down to earth personality and humorous persona. Wish I could of got to know you if I were in Milan working in the fashion industry but your in a better place right now. Love you, your Fan, Chris S."

Fashion Classics

This Spring Summer 2010 to me is about a clean structured silhouette with the basic looks with a fresher edge. I was thinking how can a look draw attention without being too loud. Well for sure it's about having a tailored fit. It's not about having too fitted or too loose, just the right fit like a glove. And another is you just can't go wrong with a cashmere sweater. Whether it's long sleeve or short it can't go wrong. This look in particular is very simple but I love it since it bold in it's own vocabulary. Semi turtleneck short sleeve in navy cashmere with a red skinny pin stripe flat front trousers. Just add a white matte belt for neutrality and side parted slick back hair for a very classic look.

On A Mission!

I always love the idea of looking like your on a safari but yet taken in a fashionable statement. Shown here Sara Ziff at the Dolce & Gabbana Spring Summer 2005 collection. It was about exotic python prints against your basic pieces in a more sexier cut. I love the eclectic mix incorporated with the exotic prints. It brings a new sensuality to a look. Sexy to me isn't just showing everything of a woman's body, it's about showing the erogenous zones of a woman's body that makes people think what's more to it. Beautifully executed by Domenico & Stefano, hopefully they can bring this seductive factor back in the next upcoming Spring Summer '11.

with my children

If I were a young mom, this is my first look of summer with my children taking a stroll walk to the park. A gorgeous plaid full skirt, red tee blouse, open brim hat, shiny yellow clutch bag, and a shining red belt for structure. Also, maybe an archive oval ray ban sunglasses for a 90's meets 50's hip mom look. I just adore when I see women still rocking the full skirt. I think a full skirt is an iconic fashion symbol. You can always wear it with anything and it still looks chic and understated without all the fuss. Another idea for my upcoming fashion photo shoot.

always lovin' it

Let me just say, Antonio Navas being one of my favorite male models looks so striking in this photograph. I believe it's at the Jean Paul Gaultier backstage fashion show, not quite sure what season. Is it just me but he looks a little more toned and muscular that you can never go wrong. I just wish I can meet this Spanish stud one day when I'm walking the streets in Barcelona which is where he's from. He just has that gorgeous sultry look about him. With his olive skin and semi chest hair but not overly hairy. Wonder what's he's like in you know what.

a sweeter side

I've thought about if I were to get married, how would I dress my bride's maid? I want my bride's maid to look and feel elegance, class, and very womanly. I came across this gorgeous black ensemble from Oscar De La Renta Fall Winter 2004 collection. I love the idea that it has a white organza detailed collar then the whole black long sleeve over it and the delicate floral shape tulle. Just pure chic and feminine without looking overdone or too easy. Hopefully I can get this look when the time comes.

without the sand

I am still thinking about what type of background and look I want to do for my July fashion editorial shoot. I am totally loving this look and background, hands down. Ultra chic meets going on a yacht on the Riviera. Summer is just starting and I love the easy relax look with a little 90's flair, but more now.

Just Glow

Loud, Delicate, & Diva'licious is what this look is all about. Donatella Versace brought back an exuberant of optimistic energy at the Versace Spring Summer 2004 collection. Bright prints of floral motifs of orchids was the main focus of prints. This is one of my favorite looks, short wrap coat, white leather hobo bag, and nude strappy sandals. A fun look to wear to dinner on a resort in the Caribbeans. Throw on a white gold glow, nude glossy lip, and big Jerry Hall waves for that women that has true confidence.

can't leave behind

I am just mesmerized by the different shades of aqua blue.  summertime is just beginning but I think you can't go wrong with a fabulous cashmere turtleneck in a 3 tone aqua blue. Match it with a blue leather mini pencil skirt, a skinny shoulder bag, patent blue leather slip on heels, and a sexy slicked back high ponytail. A look to wear at a boat party on the Riviera. Remember, don't be shy to show off those legs. Add a leg shine for a sexier appeal of glistening to your walk.

Cutting to the Chase

It's a new month of June '10: summer is just around the corner, and the heat is moving on in. Lets begin this month about reinventing personal looks. Now I've talked about changing your look and change is a great thing, not just a good thing. So this upcoming week I'm ready for a new me which means a new haircut. I am madly in love with Helge Gjerstad's haircut. It reminds me of a bit early mid 90's hairstyle like Leonardo DiCaprio but with a more of a soft polish blow out finish. It's definitely shorter on the sides but longer on top. I love the whole freshness look to it. Very nostalgic but still kept subtle and clean. I love the idea when walking, the fringe pieces on the front will flow to the air. Hopefully I can find a hairstylist that can cut my hair right this time for me to look at my best at LA Pride.
